Exhibition - The paths of peace

News : Friday, 11 November 2011 - 18:00

The paths of peace
From 11 november to 6 may 2012

This exhibition shows works by the Belgian artists Isabelle de Vinck et Ladislas de Monge.

The different style of posters and their  references to timeless values are an invitation to think - about our relationship to the world and human memory.
For example, the Tipi is a symbol of mobility and emergency shelter,  with a large round table we make associations to other things: a meeting place for dialogue or a feast. The diffuse light of an old mirror reminds us of the transience of our existence and our memory. A throne emblematizes authority and power, but also represents harmony and wisdom.
Near the battlefields of Verdun, these objects have the meaning of a report of an appeal to space and time. In view of the beautiful rooms of the 18th Century at the Centre mondial de la Paix, they create a path of Peace and harmony.
